Vocabulary Enricher

After reading, " Turning up the Light" by James M. Barrie from the book Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul  I have found that there are some challenging words and ideas that we may not clearly understand. The second is:
                              gang

In the text, the author uses this word to describe the local gang that attacked him after the football game.

According to dictionary .com the word means

a group of youngsters or adolescents who associate closely, often exclusively, for social reasons, especially such a group engaging in delinquent behavior.
Synonyms 1. company, crowd, crew; party, set, clique, coterie. 4.  team

  1. Unfortunately gangs are a scene we see too much in today's society. They aren't just what we see on a street corner but what we witness in our schools on a daily basis.
